<p><em><strong>Giving Back To The Community </strong></em></p>
<p>Our next PDU night is Oct. 20th, from 6-9 pm, upstairs at <a href="http://www.pauperspub.com/aboutus.html#">Pauper&#8217;s Pub</a> on Bloor St., Toronto.  The theme of the evening will be <em><strong>&#8220;Giving Back To The Community&#8221;</strong></em></p>
<p>Providing  volunteer, project management related work to community and charitable  groups is one way of earning PDU&#8217;s.  It is also an important component  of PMI&#8217;s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.</p>
<p><strong>Speakers:</strong> For this evening, PMP&#8217;s are invited to speak about current work they  are doing in the community and/or ways in which other PMP&#8217;s can assist  in the community.  Each speaker will be eligible for extra PDU&#8217;s  depending on the time they have spent in preparing the presentation.  If  you are interested, contact me directly to discuss how this might work.</p>

<p>Over $2,000 was raised for <a href="http://www.oglm.org">Buwaiswa Orphanage in Uganda</a>, the charity recipient for the evening.  The Orphanage currently has over 800 children, most of whom have lost their parents due to AIDS related diseases.  In most cases, the children are being raised by their grandparents who use many of the services of the orphanage as well.</p>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong> &#8211; <em>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience working as a project control officer on implementations involving multiple concurrent organizations implementing a software solution,</li>
<li>Experience managing resources </li>
<li>Experience with gathering project activity, implementation, and training metrics and developing reports for project, program, and governance committees </li>
<li>Experience managing project schedule, mitigating risks, and resolving issues related to project implementation </li>
<li>Experience analyzing client satisfaction metrics, reporting and proposing corrective action </li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in developing new processes for multiple stakeholders experience in delivering training to a range of diverse participants and class sizes </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Nice to have</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Nice to have PMP Designation, or in pursuit of PMP</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Deliverables</strong> </p>
<ul>
<li>Oversee all phases of implementation and monitor progress.</li>
<li>Responsible for control and coordination of all project plans and schedules, taking initiative to identify conflicts. </li>
<li>Assist Project Manager and Project Leads with the development of plans and schedules. </li>
<li>Ensure project plan is updated to enable tracking and reporting of project process. </li>
<li>Issue resolution-log and control all change requests. Maintain and track change logs/records.</li>
<li>Developing new processes to support the project control, administration, implementation and training teams</li>
<li>Project management of internal projects such as deployment of new modules or functionalities </li>
<li>Oversee deliverables assigned to project coordinator and project admin</li>
</ul>
