UPiMP

There are three objectives of the PM Knowledge Libary & Training Centre (working name of UPiMP).

  1. Provide a wide variety of project management learning materials to people working in the profession and/or those wishing to learn more about the field.
  2. Create a space for PMP’s (Project Management Professionals) and others working the field to publish useful articles and training materials pertinent to their field.
  3. Provide funds to community and other non-profit organizations so that their valuable work can continue.

The Centre acts as both a clearing house for all the materials as well as providing editing support and guidance to all who wish to contribute.

How can I contribute? If you feel that  you have a useful idea, template, technique, etc. that would be valuable to other project managers (within or outside of your specific field) then contact us directly to discuss the idea and how you can turn it into a training program.  Furthermore, you can volunteer your time to act as one of our editors and/or quality control officers to assist in the continued development of the centre.

Can I earn PDU’s for this work? Absolutely.  PMP’s may earn up to 45 PDU’s per 3 year cycle for publications and contributions to the field of project management.  This is 75% of a PMP’s requirements.  The PDU’s may be earned for the actual publication or training materials; as well as for assistance provided to the centre in areas such as editing, quality control, etc.

How much will customers pay for the materials? A base price of $25 per training is expected.  For publications, there will be no charge.

Where does the money go? All money from the Centre is either given directly to the charity or community organization chosen by the author of the materials (if such an organization is selected); or, is given to an organization chosen by the customer from a list prepared and validated by the Centre .

Who retains the rights to the publication? The author retains all rights to the publication as well as training materials.  The author may ask that the materials be pulled from the site at any time.

When is the expected start date? The Centre is already building the library with an expected start date of January 9th, 2012.  From there, it is expected that the Centre and all the materials will continue to grow over time.

How can I get involved? Contact us directly by email (pmcentre@rudkins.ca) or call us at 1-647-221-9706 to discuss how you would like to get involved.
